The son of state Representative Mike Kernell has been contacted by authorities in relation to the security of an email account belonging to Republican VP pick, Sarah Palin.

David Kernell, son to Mike Kernell, has reportedly been contact by authorities investigating the 'hacking' of Sarah Plain's personal Yahoo email account.

According to The Tennessean, State Rep. Mike Kernell confirmed Thursday that his son, a University of Tennessee-Knoxville student, is at the center of heated Internet discussion into the hacking of the personal e-mail of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

It was reported earlier that a group known as 'Anonymous' were responsible for the hacking.

A lot of the email content was leaked, including family photos, addresses, and loads of personal emails.
